January 24, 2012...

We have a brand new year ahead, with a lot of work to do.  We have people to meet, people to feed, clothe and tend to.  We have a mandate to follow, "Make disciples," Jesus tells us.

We have a Lord who can and will open our hearts to serve His people.  We have a God who is able; whose grace is enough, whose provisions for the work is sufficient.  We have a faith that is the only genuine faith, the only real God, the only way to salvation.  We cannot keep that to ourselves as we struggle to protect what we have.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, let's make this New Year a year for open minds.  Let us begin to think out of the box, beyond our walls, and start reaching beyond where we are today.  There are so many un-churched folks that need our help.  Now this doesn't mean that we must abandon what we have been doing for years.  We can keep doing those things.  But there's much that we can add.

The challenge, my friends is clearly before us.  It is time to commit ourselves to the work of the Kingdom of God in new and exciting ways.  But first, let's commit ourselves to pray for God's guidance in our work in His church.  The let's have a conversation about what we hear God saying and showing us.

Blessings to you all,

Pastor Leo
